Fleetwood’s fuel thrifty Class C

Always on the lookout for a fuel-efficient RV, I read with interest the article in the March 2008 edition of MotorHome magazine spotlighting the Fleetwood Icon 24D .

The “suggested retail price” is a little steep at more than $93K, so it is more realistically suited for a retired couple than a young family.

It features a 26.4-gallon fuel tank with a stated mileage averaging around 15 mpg.

The streetside slideout, housing the dinette (which converts to a 40 x 73-inch sleeper) and refrigerator, “adds to the overall transformation, making this Class C seem much larger than its 26-foot length might imply,” according to MotorHome.
