Watch for this woman on a mission

Janis Sherwood, of Vista, Calif., is scheduled to leave today in a Class C motorhome on a cross-country road trip to raise public awareness about a rare genetic disease (ALD – or adrenoleukodystrophy) that killed her 8-year-old son, according to an article by Renee Ramsey in the North (San Diego) County Times.

“My son was so courageous during his illness,” Sherwood said. “I felt that if he could be that brave, then I can have the courage to reach out to others.”
