RV friends’ ‘Minnesota Room’

We recently received an e-mail from RV friends Kevin and Jane Justis of Susanville, Calif. They are on an extended recreation vehicle road trip to visit family and friends in the Midwest.

Kevin writes: “After living the last 28 years in the west, it has been a shock to get reacquainted with humidity. Where we normally are in the summer it is not unusual to have single digits.

“We do have bugs in the ville (Susanville) but typically only around sunset and early morning. In anticipation of this part of our travels, we did buy the new addition that you see next to the Casita. We call it our Minnesota Room.

“Tomorrow will mark 700 nights in our egg. We started this trip with some idyllic notions about traveling in the summer instead of the winter travels we have done the last six years. With the heat and smoke on the first leg, followed by heat, humidity and bugs on this leg, the illusion has been shattered by the pungent aromatherapy of Deet.”
