We did not run into one cranky person
on all our walks through the rows of Casitas, Scamps and other rigs or during any of the casual gatherings at the Pineknot “Molded Fiberglass RV Gathering” … even all the pet companions (both dogs and cats) seemed happy to be there.
Our “next door” neighbors, Geary and Mary Gowins of Fort Worth, Texas, were especially generous with their time and information about the Molded Fiberglass RV group and their own 10-foot 1984 U-Haul travel trailer.
They picked up this unique rig seven years ago. “It has a lot of usable space,” said Mary. There is an “almost” regular size bed along with two bunks that are “perfect for granddaughters, 9 and 6.” In addition there is a small kitchen space that Geary has converted to an all-electric rig.
On the same weekend we were at Crockett Family Resort, there were several dozen colorful, elaborately equipped fishing kayaks (also molded fiberglass recreational vehicles) lined up along the Houston County Lake shoreline. They were there to participate in the Kayak Bass Fishing Texas Open tournament. For more information on this and other events for freshwater anglers interested in both kayaking and bass fishing chick on the ACK Blog.
