Diana and Jim Garot’s motor home’s cover protects against intense desert rays

On our RV snowbird journey through Southern California in early 2010, Jimmy and I traveled through Palmdale, Calif., to visit longtime friends (dating back to junior high school) Diana and Jim Garot..

It is wonderful to break bread and catch up with old friends. Jim and Diana retired early and purchased their Holiday Rambler Endeavor motor home in 2001 so that they could take extended trips around the country.

Living on the edge of the Mojave Desert to help protect their rig from punishing sun, they purchased an RV shelter from a Palmdale business called Quality Steel Covers and Products “at the cost of $2,700,” said Diana.  “It is 14′ wide x 40′ long.  The steel sides cover about 1/3 of the side.”
