Hot showers, electricity at COE Fort Peck in northeast Montana

We are still fairly early into our six-month RV journey of circumnavigating the Lower 48.

Over the past ten years, whenever possible, we stay at Corps of Engineers Campgrounds.  This season being no exception, we pointed our way toward the COE Downstream Campground at Fort Peck Dam in northeast Montana.

It had been an especially long day for us, about nine hours. Our priorities were: electrical hookup, internet/cell connection, and most importantly–hot showers.  We were tired and desperately needed to be pummeled with a steamy shower.  We were not disappointed.

Most of the 86 RV and tent sites were unoccupied on our overcast and rainy September weekend. We nestled into site 53 of the Non-Reservable Loop.

Autumn is not quite in beautiful color here, give it a couple more weeks.

Using our half-price America the Beautiful Senior Access Pass we paid $9/day for a 30 amp hookup. Decent drinkable water is available at a communal pump. An RV dump is not far away.

    Hi folks:

We’ve been checking your blog and watching your progress. We stayed at Downstream at Fork Peck a couple years ago and found it like so many other COE campgrounds… nicely laid out, and more a campground than an RV park… just the way we like it.

I’m sure your auspicious start to this journey will continue. Safe travels…
