More RV manufacturers opting out

RV Travel Newsletter reports that the “Financially troubled Coachmen Industries, Inc., has sold its RV assets to Forest River Inc., which will acquire its brands, product lines, central manufacturing operations in Middlebury, Ind., and its dealership in Elkhart, Ind. Read more.

In another item, the newsletter also states that Bigfoot RV, “one of Canada’s largest RV makers has closed its doors after 31 years, with sources citing the reason as the “unprecedented stress” of economic conditions in the USA. Bigfoot Industries officially closed on Friday. Its British Columbia plant made fifth-wheel trailers, travel trailers and truck campers. It had about 200 employees.”
