Tidbits include: “Car club AAA says 31.5 million Americans will travel over the Labor Day holiday, down 2.4 percent from last year. Most plan to travel 608 miles, less than last year’s 635 miles.”

(Personally, we don’t plan to travel over Labor Day weekend. Being sort-of retired, we don’t have to stuff our camping trips into one four-day weekend. The second weekend in September, we’re planning a trip to Flathead Lake near Kalispel, Mont. If we’re lucky, we head up to Glacier National Park for a night or two.)

And, because we are new owners of a 5th wheel with a 13-foot slide, I was  interested in the article on “Caring for your RV slideout.”  It says that “a little bit of maintenance and forethought will go a long way to making sure your RV experience doesn’t get unhappy when your slideout room won’t slide like it should.”
