I’ve been a Habitat for Humanity volunteer for more than 18 years and have many fond memories of working on a Christmas Habitat house back in 1991 in Plains, Georgia, with a number of other volunteers including former-President Jimmy Carter.

Each holiday season I reflect warmly on that personally transformative experience and have longed to be part of another Christmas build.

This is the year.

While not specifically a ‘Christmas’ build, for a short time the first two weeks of December, Jimmy and I will be part of a volunteer crew that will help construct houses in Las Cruces, NM, for the Mesilla Valley HFH. at a chilly elevation of near 4,500 feet.

There are a number of Habitat affiliates across North America that welcome RVers. To find out about them, contact RV Care-A-Vanners.
