This is the 12th installment of Kevin and Janie Justis‘ ‘Summer of 2017’s Grand RVing Tour of Canada’s Maritime Provinces.’
This post finds Kevin and Janie Justis of Rio Rico, Ariz., back in Nova Scotia.
“After six days of waiting for truck parts to be delivered,” writes Kevin, “it felt great to get back on the road. We were fortunate that the Ford dealer in Stephensville, Newfoundland, let us have a loaner vehicle so we could explore the area and not be marooned in a trailer park.
“The ferry ride back here was definitely not as smooth as the one over. As we begin to backtrack a bit toward home the tally is up to almost 12,000 miles, 13 States and 6 Canadian provinces.”
A fellow traveler, Laura, that Kevin and Janie met while traveling Canada “made the mistake of inviting us to stay in her front yard when we came back to Sydney, Nova Scotia.
“Well we have spent three nights here and Laura’s yard is 7 acres.
“We are the kind of folks to whom you don’t want to issue a casual invitation because we are very likely to show up. Laura and her husband, Gary, have been generous hosts. As a small repayment, I helped him stack wood and sure slept well as a result.
“Yesterday we did a short but scenic hike out on the coast of the Atlantic and we started to see a hint of Fall. The high that day was 62 degrees. Today I talked to my brother in Davis, Calif., and it cooled off some, the high was only 103.
“Tomorrow we hit the road again as we explore some other parts of Nova Scotia.”
