RV Short Stop: Novelist Willa Cather’s childhood home in Red Cloud, Neb., and Memorial Prairie

Red Cloud, Nebraska, is said to be the most famous little town in America.

It is where Pulitzer Prize winning author Willa Cather spent her childhood years and where today nearly 10,000 visitors from all over the world travel to see the  Willa Cather Center and Red Cloud Opera House.

The Willa Cather Memorial Prairie is just five miles south of Red Cloud and provides nature lovers a variety of activities, from bird watching and nature walks to fishing. Red Cloud is located in south central Nebraska just a few miles north of Kansas.
