chalet1935Charleen and Chuck Martin of Roseburg, Ore., and their yellow lab, Iceman, travel for fun in their 2003 16-foot Chalet Arrowhead folding trailer.

The longtime campers love their smartly designed A-frame pop-up travel trailer. “I don’t even know it is back there,” says Chuck. “it tows like a dream.”

Chalet RV (out of Albany, Ore.) offers a variety of models and floorplans starting with the LTW — 13′ long, 78″ wide with a dry weight of 1,139 and load capacity of 861 pounds.

The more posh, longer (18′ 9″), wider (82″) and heavier (dry weight 2,020 pounds with a load capacity of 1,480 pounds) XL Series features a wet bath with a shower, 11.5K BTU air conditioner with an included heat pump, outside grill and many other amenities.

All the models fold down under tow and set up in “30 seconds.”

  • True these trailers open up in less than a minute, even the large XL series as we own. Towing them is a dream. We have the XL1930 with the electric lift and simply love it.
We also carry a 12 ft portabote on our pickup truck with shell. So in just a matter of minutes we have both our folding Chalet and boat with canopy and 6 hp motor set up.
