Packing up, clearing out, moving on

Jimmy Smith checking email. By Julianne Crane With less than two weeks before the scheduled departure of our six-month RV trip circumnavigating the U.S.A., I am in the painful place of shedding a comfortable skin I’ve worn for many years.

Even when one knows it is for the best, moving out of one’s home of almost a dozen years, is a struggle.  However, with my modest income, I could not reconcile paying rent for an empty space, no matter how much a part of my life it has been.

It is amazing how much ‘stuff’ one can squirrel away in only 800-square feet.

While I ponder over if I should save a small bag of mosaic glass from Murano, Italy, or find a spot in the storage shed for my mother’s childhood doll, Jimmy stays quietly out of the way working on his own thoughts. Read his reflections by clicking on “Winnowing and reducing.”
