High school chum shares love of RV lifestyle

For me, the greatest joy of the internet is reconnecting with long-ago and far-away friends.

This happened again recently when I discovered an email from a former Pacific High School classmate. She is still living in Southern California, and shares my passion for the RV lifestyle.

Jane (Page) Robinson and her husband, Bill, are the proud owners of a 33′ Monaco Monarch motor coach purchased in December 2011.

Their first ‘big’ (almost a month-long) trip in their new coach was in the summer of 2012. They traveled from Southern California to Washington state where they visited their son in Mt. Vernon. On their journey they visited many points of interest along the way.

Favorite campgrounds

“We love the conveniences the motor home has to offer, plus we can bring our beloved ‘pooches’ with us,” said Jane. “So many campgrounds…so little time.” Their favorite RV park was Crater Lake RV Resort (also known as Prospect RV Park), about 30 minutes from Crater Lake National Park. “It was too beautiful for words, seeing the crater and the pure water. The campground folks were so very friendly and the grounds were pristine.”

For shorter trips, the Robinsons’ favorite destination is San Diego with the San Diego Metro KOA as their number one campground. It was voted KOA’s 2013 Campground of the Year, “the only campground to have received this award twice.”

According to Jane, this campground “truly caters to the campers and the employees are all so friendly.  We continue to see other campers there from times past. It has become a bit of a mini-reunion each time we go,” she said.

“Our Monaco Monarch has provided great comfort for us and handles quite well.  We have not been disappointed with this purchase.  Even our two pups enjoy the coach.”
