Traveling today between arid Bend, Ore., and coastal Crescent City, Calif., (about 80 miles north of Eureka) where there are such interesting local attractions as the Battery Point Lighthouse … however my primary reason for this destination is to do day hikes into one or two of the Redwood National and State Parks.
A friend recommended I check out Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, it is open year round.
Because weather in northern California often turns on a dime this time of the year … I always like to check AccuWeather.com
As I write this, it looks clear for today, but there is a chance of showers on Tuesday. Glad I brought the Gore-Tex jacket.

I did get to Paatrick’s Point State Park and you are absolutely correct … so peaceful.
You are headed to one of my most favorite places in California. I wish I was there to hike the redwoods with you. If you have time visit Patrick’s Point State Park – Beautiful!
