Week 1, Day 5 – TGIF on Habitat build in Sebring

HabitatSebring_JS_Frank_JulianneCraneDay 5 and the final day of our first week as RV Care-a-Vanners on the Habitat for Humanity build in Sebring, FL.

Today saw Jimmy Smith once again swinging his framing hammer as part of the crew erecting walls on the 7th house of this 60-house complex.

As for me, after transferring my complete knowledge of cleaning and scrapping cement floors to three other volunteers, I assigned myself as lead construction site cleanup person.

I remember on one of my first Habitat builds back in 1991, some seasoned house leader said: “A clean site is a safe site.” Or something to that affect.  Anyway, it elevated picking up trash to a higher calling.

Meanwhile back on House 1, the flooring crew kept putting down the donated composite granite tiles in the bedrooms and bathrooms.
