Updated 2012: “Unfortunately after a series of poor attendance and a lack of support from the city and airport officials, the last race was run in 2012.”

According to a July 2009 article by Sarah McLellan in the Edmonton (Alberta) Journal, motorhome owners have the best seat in the house at the Rexall Speedway.

“For the first time this year, race fans had the opportunity to park their recreational vehicle at the Rexall Edmonton Indy and enjoy the tire squeals and engine revving from the comfort of their motorhome or trailer, ” writes McLellan.

“The RV site housed 50 stalls along Turns 4, 5 and 6. To park there, race goers paid for a package that included four three-day ticket passes for the stands. Prices range from about $1,100 for gold seats to $500 for general admission tickets.”

Gary and Theresa Fairfull and their three children plan on purchasing the RV package again next year because it allows them to come to the Indy as a family.

“This is really good for us to have this,” Gary, 43, said. “We can come back here, recharge, cold drinks, cheaper food, everything.”
