RVing with Kids, part 4: Online resources to find campgrounds on public, private lands

Wherever you want to spend time outdoors there are plenty of resources that will assist you with planning getaways to America’s public lands or private RV parks.

Recreation.gov: For help on reserving campground sites on federal lands, there are folks ready to help “you plan and enjoy every last second in some of the U.S.A.’s most inspiring destinations,” according to Recreation.gov. This online gateway is a “one-stop shop for trip planning, information sharing and reservations” at 2,500 federal areas for more than 60,000 facilities and activities at national parks, forests, monuments and other public lands.

America’s Parks.com: This site is a collaboration of numerous government agencies, departments and bureaus to bring all of America’s park resources together in one easy to find location. Of the millions of visitors each year, 64-percent are children.

kid_mom_GoCampingAmericaGo Camping America: This website provides information on private RV parks and campgrounds in the United States. “Find the perfect camping location, RV park and campground reviews.”

Go RVing: An RV-industry resource site that offers information on RV vacation spots, family fun and games, consumer FAQs and hints on selecting and purchasing an RV.
