Snowbird RVers LaRae and Carl Stone of Boise, Idaho, are spending their first winter in Wickenburg, Ariz.
“We drove through this area last year, liked the looks and feel of the town,” says LaRae, “and decided to try it after Carl retired.”
The Stones pulled their Cougar Toy Hauler down to southwest Arizona the first of November and will return to Idaho in early April.
However, they won’t be hauling their trailer back to Idaho. “Because of the fuel prices and the fact that we plan to return here next winter,” says Carl, “we’ll be storing it here at the Desert Cypress RV Park.”
Since arriving in Arizona, Carl and LaRae have made a lot of new friends (“People are really friendly here.”) and taken up the ATV lifestyle.
“We thought we would use our motorcycle more,” says Carl, “however, people have ATVs here because there are so many places to ride them in the desert.” So, the Stones purchased a brand new bright orange Polaris 4-wheeler and Carl gave Jimmy a quick ride.
