One of the news bits in this week’s RVTravel.com newsletter reports that US News and World Report says Yuma, Arizona, wins first place as the “sunniest place” for people to retire. “RVers are already flocking to the resort community near the Mexico border, which is traditionally one of the West’s largest RV snowbird destinations,” writes editor Chuck Woodbury.

[Tell me about it. Today I placed a call to the Escapee KOFA Ko-Op RV Park in Yuma asking about the possibility of finding a site there for a week around Christmas and the operator essentially said, “Slim to none. We’re getting into our busiest time of the year.” They don’t accept reservations and everything is on a first-come first-served basis.]

Woodbury also writes that this year’s National RV Trade Show getting underway on Tuesday, 11/29/11) in Louisville, Ky. Many new model RVs and aftermarket products will be introduced. Because the industry event is not open to the general public RVtravel.com will have a reporter in Louisville to bring readers highlights — in RVTravel blogs and on its Facebook page.
