When not giving news interviews or practicing for the Indy 500, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick relaxes away from the track in her Marathon Coach.
“One night last week,” writes Sports Illustrated reporter Lars Anderson, “I had dinner with Patrick, her parents (T.J. and Bev) and her husband, Paul Hospenthal, outside of Patrick’s motorhome.”
“Danica doesn’t like to venture out into Indianapolis on most nights because of the inevitable hullabaloo that she will create, so during the month of May this is where she enjoys most of her meals.” Read more in Anderson’s SI.com column “Popular Patrick faces growing expectations at Indianapolis 500.”
Anderson also writes about Patrick in his Sports Illustrated’s cover story: “Forget the Hype: Danica Patrick has been racing for 17 tough years and now faces the strongest 500 field in a generation. But she believes this is her time.”
