Canadian “celebrity chefs and good friends Chuck Hughes and Danny Smiles are on a cross-country culinary RV adventure,” according to a blurb on Food Network Canada.
This epic Canadian culinary odyssey airs on Friday evenings at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network Canada. (check local listings).
In honor of Canada’s upcoming 150th birthday, Montreal-based chefs and best buds Chuck and Danny are fulfilling “a lifelong dream: setting out on an all-Canadian RV road trip to check off their culinary bucket list, discovering the roots of Canada’s favorite foods. In return they cook a feast for the locals celebrating that region’s cuisine,” according to publicity material from Force Four Entertainment of Vancouver, BC.
In collaboration with Go RVing Canada, (an RV industry marketing group) Sunwest RV provided a fully-loaded fifth-wheel trailer for the cross-country trek. Chuck and Danny took their cooking gear and comforts of home in tow, making stops in Vancouver Island, B.C.’s Salt Spring Island, the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
“Chuck and Danny truly embrace the camping lifestyle in this series and experienced RV living during their journey,” said Chris Mahony, President of Go RVing Canada. “And there may have been a few friendly bets and fun chirps between the chefs calling dibs on who got the luxury king-size bed vs. the cozy pull-out sofa in the RV.”
They cooked over campfires and played in the great outdoors. What a great introduction to the RV lifestyle.
