Shortly after retiring in the mid-90s and only 12 weeks after the purchase of a new motorhome, Arlene Janssens’ husband was diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor. After his sudden death, she learned to drive, maintain and enjoy her home on wheels.

Janssens, of Salem, Ore., passes along helpful information in a workshop she leads on “RVing Solo” at the RV Life on Wheels Conference in Lewiston, Idaho.

She writes a monthly column for Bounder Sounder magazine. She also recommends several organizations for single RVers including “International Loners on Wheels” and “Wandering Individuals’ Network.”
