Sylvan Sport lightweight adventure tent camper

Over the next several weeks, in no particular order, RVWheelLife.com is taking a look at a variety of small travel trailers, off-road trailers, and light-weight tent campers.

The folks at Sylvan Sport Mobile Adventure Gear set out to rethink the pop-up tent experience.

The GO tent camper is meant to be more a piece of outdoor gear — a sort of “backpack on wheels.”

It was “designed from the frame out to be a one-of-a-kind mobile adventure trailer that’s even more versatile than a Swiss Army knife,” according to its literature.

“At 840 lbs. GO can be towed by almost any vehicle out there. This efficient ‘backpack on wheels’ allows you to have the benefits of an RV without the gas credit card.”

The tent sets up in minutes and stows cleanly into the roof’s storage box. It also comes equipped with a weather-tight gear box that locks to keep camping essentials secure and ready to go. Watch video below for easy set up.

Direct price – a tad under $8,000 plus any extras and shipping (between $450-$900). Contact information: SylvanSport, 235 Commerce St., Brevard, NC. 28712; 828-883-4292.

  • We love our GO. We own a Coleman Pop-Up, a LLBean Family Tent and a Big Agnes Seed House solo tent. We buy the best and expect our equipment to function in all wet/cold weather and it does. The only one we take on a long trip is the GO, because it performs as well as our other equipment and it affords us the most comfort. It is light both in weight and interior. We can haul anything in it. It sets up fast. It keeps us dry in 3 day rains. You can set it up in any direction in a campground because it is so light. Pricey yes, but worth every dime, as we found out after our first trip!
