Two couples Jimmy and I first met more than a month ago at New Mexico’s Pancho Villa State Park have crossed our paths recently in the most amazing places.
Jim Rock and Ruth Hendericks from Port Angeles, Wash., were sitting at the bar in the Blue Water Casino in Parker, Ariz., on Dec. 30, when we spotted them as we walked through the lobby after eating dinner. All of us ended up dry camping in the casino parking lot that night.
Jim and Ruth, both retired cooks, have been fulltiming for three years in a 21-foot 1991 Toyato Winnebago Warrior.
“We go where the weather dictates,” says Ruth.
Even more unlikely, Mary and Mark Foster of Wheat Ridge, Colo, were parked in a site directly across from ours the other night at the BLM Imperial Dam LTVA.
They walked over and said hello as we were packing up to leave early in the morning. It seems they have been dry camping at Imperial Dam almost since we last saw them drive away from Pancho Villa.
One of the many things we have learned on this extended camping trip is that, as corny as it sounds, it truly is a small world out here for RVers on the open road.

Wendy: Jimmy and I left Quartzsite a couple of days ago. Sorry we missed Karen … BLM LTVA is a vast area. I know she will continue to enjoy herself. Julianne
Hi Julianne and Jimmy, I was just talking to my sister Karen who is RVing down in that vast area. I thought I would tell you that she is at Quartzsite now for the next couple of weeks. One of these times I hope you can cross paths with each other because she is very definitely living her dream of just traveling endlessly everywhere! Hope all is well. Wendy
