RVers love fishing at Garner State Park

The Frio River runs through Garner State Park, about 120 miles west of where RVers Bonnie and Dedra Evans live in San Antonio, Texas.

They both love to fish, but Bonnie, a retired Army Staff Sergeant , is avid about it. They came to Garner to fish and by the end of one good day Bonnie had netted more than a dozen rainbow trout.

Although the spring-fed Frio River is low in its banks because of record setting drought, there are deep pools and we heard that the Texas State Department of Parks had recently stocked the river around Garner Park with 1,200 rainbow. (We also spotted Black Bass and Blue Gill.)

One good feature for out-of-state RVers is that they do not need a state fishing license to fish within state park boundaries.
