Neil Sedaka, legendary pop singer, songwriter and pianist, will kick off the entertainment lineup on April 17 at The 2009 Rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sedaka, a classically-trained pianist, is a prolific and versatile author of more than 1,000 songs with countless hit singles and platinum and gold records. He recorded chart toppers, including “The Diary,” “Oh! Carol,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “Calendar Girl,” “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen,” “Bad Blood,” and “Laughter in the Rain.” According to a news release, his song, “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do,” was recently listed by BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) as one of the 50 most performed songs of the 20th century.
