The Floyd Country Store hosts music every week.

If you find yourself traveling through southwest Virginia anywhere near the weekend, build in a few days to take in, and thoroughly enjoy, the musical celebration at The Floyd Country Store.

“The Floyd Country Store is more than a music venue. It has become a traditional gathering place on Friday nights for musicians, dancers, and visitors from all over the world.” There is also music on Saturday afternoons.

Jimmy Smith and I were in Floyd visiting my aunt, Jean Huber, cousin, Mary Jane Huber and her longtime partner, musician John Winnicki.

And, we were just in time for the weekly Friday Night Jamboree. For only $5 music begins around 6:30 p.m. and goes to about 10:30 p.m. We heard gospel to bluegrass. I even drug Jimmy out onto the hardwood dance floor for a slow two-step.
