While there are thousands of RVs scattered on this huge public slice of the desert surrounding Quartzsite, Ariz, there is still lots of room for very little money on Bureau of Land Management long term visitor areas. (Pay $40–cash or check–for two weeks; $180 for 7 months. Camping permit can be used on any of the BLM facilities in the area.)

Our dry camping site at La Posa South is about thee miles south of Quartzsite off Hwy 95. We are set up within a hundred feet of Joyce Caudell of Portland, Ore. (Her motorhome is in background above.)

There are dump stations and fresh water at a central location; plus three pit toilets at three different spots at this LTVA.

We are bicycling into town today to explore the flee markets and temporary stores that are selling everything from silver earrings to solar panels.

The huge RV show does not start until Jan. 16; however numerous of RV dealers have already set up temporary sales lots in downtown Quartzsite.
