ArtStream Nomadic Gallery ‘On the Road Again’

In 2001, potter Alleghany Meadows remodeled a 30-foot 1967 Airstream Sovereign Land Yacht into a traveling exhibition space called the Art-Stream featuring his work and the work of fellow artists.

Now, a decade-and-half later, the Art-Stream’s 15th Anniversary Tour: “On the Road Again” is underway. It includes “work by 25 nationally recognized and emerging studio potters spanning the spectrum of aesthetics and techniques in contemporary studio pottery.” Demonstrating Artists: Ayumi Horie, Lisa Orr, and Lorna Meaden.

To date, stops along the way have included the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; and Fort Hayes State University, Hayes, Kansas.

Shows over the next two weeks include:

– March 11 – 13, 2016 — Lawrence Arts Center, Lawrence, Kansas

– March 14 — University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas

– March 15 – 19 — National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts 2016, Kansas City, MissouriShoji-Satake

“‘Exploring the Digital Landscape is a survey of work by artists working within the field of ceramics and employing digital technologies in their studio practice. Curated by Del Harrow and Andy Brayman, the artists in this exhibition represent some of the most innovative and accomplished investigations in this growing field. This exhibition is presented in collaboration with the new NCECA Clay Fab Lab program. The works will be for sale with proceeds directly benefit future NCECA programming,” according to a news release.

Exhibiting Artists: Andy Brayman, Anna Calluori Holcombe, Bryan Czibesz & Shawn Spangler, Brooks Oliver, Camilla Friedman-Gerlicz, Del Harrow, Grant Landreth, Paul McMullan, Holly Hanessian, Keith Simpson, Mark Pharis, Mia Mulvey, Richard Burkett, Sanam Emami, Shoji Satake, Brian Giniewski, Jo Kamm, Joshua Stein, Ron Rael & Virginia San Fratello, Tethon 3D, Tom Lauerman, and Stacy Jo Scott.
