In the Aug. 17, 2011, USA Today there is a photo of the “First Bus.” I’ve been curious about this rig since President Obama started his three-day tour of the Midwest.
Two of these coaches were purchased from Hemphill Brother Coach Co. of Nashville, for “$2,191,960.” Hemphill is one of the primary leasing companies of rigs for rock and country stars.
It is not unusual for politicians or entertainers to travel in these luxury motor coaches … Sarah Palin has received lots of attention doing it all summer. Ronald Regan did it back in 1980, along with more recent “2008 Republican candidates for president: former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson and Sen. John McCain of Arizona,” according to an article by Richard Wolf in USA Today.
