‘Swell idea’ for campers in Michigan

Jeff Kart writes in the Bay City Times, that at participating Michigan Department of Natural Resources campgrounds, “folks who pay to camp on Friday and Saturday nights can leave their trailers on site from Sunday through Thursday for free, then come back to the campground the next weekend. Camping costs $19-21 a night with electric hookup.”

The program was introduced in May as a “gas savings camper storage program.”

“It sounds like a swell idea to me,” says Dennis Tressic, who leaves his 39-foot fifth wheel at the park during the week. Read more in “Camp for weekend, store for free
