RVers Connie & Dan Howard love their 13-foot Scamp

Scamp travel trailer owners Connie and Dan Howard of Oregon were camped a couple sites over from us at the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, just south of Reedport, Ore.

They bought their 1998 13-foot Scamp about a year ago because they wanted something light enough for their six-cylinder to tow easily.

“We love the coziness of the smaller trailer,” said Connie. And, “after all these years I finally got my ‘Doll House’.”

One of their favorite RV camping trips was going to Diamond Lake in the Umpqua National Forest, near Crater Lake National Park in southern Oregon.

Married for 36 exciting years, they both have a lot of camping experience from their childhood. “Like my dad always said,” mentioned Connie, “Everything is better outdoors in the fresh air. Have you every noticed how much better food tastes when you cook outdoors? I guess you could say ‘our church’ is the wide open spaces where God lives.”

Dan worked for a school district for 30 years., and Connie’s last job was being a Nanny for “a beautiful little girl and wonderful family.”

“We are so happy to be of good health so we can continue to RV and explore this awesome Earth of ours,” said Connie. “Our favorite thing, other than exploring, is meeting nice and interesting people.”
