The National Park Service was created on August 25, 1916, when President Woodrow Wilson signed the National Park Service Act. Each year, the NPS works with partners to celebrate this anniversary.
In addition to numerous special events, all parks waive entrance fees. This is the perfect day to go to one of the hundreds of national parks and monuments and visit for free.
