Thousands of gleaming and lovingly restored vintage RVs will be rolling this summer into more than a hundred different gatherings of the Tin Can Tourists across the USA and Canada.
This classic trailer and motor coach group celebrates vintage rigs (made before 1980) through annual gatherings of owners and friends; and information exchange.
The Events page lists The Tin Can Tourists’ “official events and allow other vintage trailer clubs or individual to add events to our community listing of events.”

All-American Vintage Trailer Rally

Sponsored by the Rollin’ Oldies Vintage Trailers group, this event is open to everyone, no reservations required (no pre-registration), plenty of room, just show up and have fun. Numerous on-site museums. An antique trolley passes through the camp area.
The All-American Vintage Trailer Rally is at Antique Powerland (near I-5) in Brooks, Oregon (just north of Salem). Cost is $30 per night. This fee covers camping, event insurance, and entrance to the museums.
Water, electric, restrooms, showers. “This is field-camping. That is, there aren’t designated camp spots, it is all willy-nilly on the grass. Park where you want, bring friends, set up in a circle….whatever suits you. There is quite a bit of shade under the trees,” states the rally web page.
“Electric and water are available, but it may limit your parking options due to spigot and outlet locations on the grounds. Bring plenty of extension cord, hose and ‘tees’. No full hook-ups and no black-water dump station. There is a gray-water dump station, but access is limited to portable tote-style holding tanks.”
The on-site museums feature cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, logging, trains and trolleys. Also, over the July 4th weekend, there will be a Civil War reenactment complete with horses and a battle.
2nd Annual Tin Can Tourists ‘Great River Road Vintage Trailer Rally’
July 14 – July 17, 2016
Illiniwek Forest Preserve, Hampton, Illinois

Camping along the great Mississippi River. Fishing, bike trails, hiking, boat ramp.
Events include: Friday evening social hour & potluck dinner; Saturday morning: Breakfast; Open House Saturday- Noon to 3 p.m.; Group dinner Saturday evening; morning coffee and breakfast treats on Sunday.
