Boondocking RVers gather at Quartzsite over winter

Quartzsite-moonThe RV boondocking capital of the world, Quartzsite, is a longtime mecca for snowbirding RVers. They gather for the inexpensive camping, friendship of other RVers, and all the stuff to do during the town’s famous RV show, gem shows and swap meets. It is estimated that there are more than 20,000 potential campsites on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land border the show grounds.

“From its humble beginnings the now-massive Quartzsite show has grown to RV-epic proportions with vendors offering everything under the Quartzsite sun,” according to the Chamber of Commerce.

The “largest gathering of RVs and RVers on Earth” brings thousands each day to the free Annual Sports, Vacation and RV Show (left) runs the third week in January 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Look for the Show Grounds at 700 S. Central, in Quartzsite, Ariz.
