  • More compact and fuel-efficient campers seems to be the way to go for the industry. European-style converted diesel vans (Americans: think old VW vans with pop.tops) can make a RV holiday a more affordable alternative to a conventional hotel holiday. I guess rising fuel prices eventually will make airline tickets more expensive too, making self-drive holidays even more economical.
