Low RV prices keep Canadian RV dealers rolling despite bumpy economic roads

RV prices are at an eight-year low, according to Go RVing Canada, the RV and camping industry’s marketing arm. Down 15 to 20 per cent.

Albertans, who have always been strong RV buyers, are taking advantage of the lower prices being passed on by U. S.-based manufacturers hit by the recession, said Don Pettit, general manager of Woody’s RV World, with locations in Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary.

North American manufacturers are using lightweight composites to increase mileage and are tapping into German knowledge on how to build smaller, more fuel-efficient RVs without sacrificing amenities, said Pettit.
