Planning an autumn RV trip along the Blue Ridge Mountains …

BlueRidge_blur_JulianneCraneJimmy and I are planning a trip through the Eastern part of our incredible country this autumn and each day I put just a little time into researching our potential route.

What caught my eye this morning on the Internet is the beautifully designed and easy-to-navigate “North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains” Web site.

One page under “Where to Stay & Eat” lists Campgrounds and, while I am sure it is not complete, it gives insight into what is available along the way.

Thank you for this link. Already the trip is lining up to be full and rich. It’s been almost 20 years since I’ve been through the Shenandoah Valley …

  • Great minds! I am planning a trip to Glacier in September myself after a wedding in North Idaho. 😉 Here’s more info and pics on Shanandoah – http://dangrv.com/2008/04/front-royal-and-the-shenandoah-valley-va/ Have fun!

Thank you for all your great suggestions … I don’t know if we’ll make it to Mayberry Days in September, planning on being on the road along Hwy 2 near Glacier National Park in Montana around that time. But everything else sounds do-able.

  • Blue Ridge Mountains are awesome. If you are a Waltons fan, there is a Waltons museum in Schuyler, Virginia. Don’t miss Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. Luray Caverns is good too. September is time for Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, NC.
