RVer Anne Larson of Minnesota is not thrown by the unusually cold weather Florida is experiencing this week–in fact, she quickly fashions a pretty mean snowball from the early morning ice scrapings off her car window.

For the past three winters, this fulltime solo RVer has been escaping the much more severe Midwest winters by volunteering for the Highlands County Habitat for Humanity in Sebring, Florida.

“I figured I could be sitting at home doing nothing,” she reflects, “or I could be down here in much warmer weather helping build homes.”

She has helped in almost all phases of construction including concrete foundations, framing (her favorite) laying tile, caulking (least favorite), roofing and painting.

Larson travels and lives in her 2008 31-foot class C Winnebago Access with one large slide in the living room-dining area. “I love my life,” she says.
