One great project, and lots of fun, is the annual National Women Build Week the week before Mother’s Day, this year May 6-14, 2017.

In 2016, an estimated 17,000 women volunteered at least one day during Women Build Week at 650 Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country.

This year, more women are expected to volunteer and “help create a world where everyone has a decent place to live,” according to the Women Build website.

The program continues “to grow across international borders, empowering women everywhere to address poverty housing for themselves, their families and their neighbors. Dozens of International Women Builds have taken place, and the program aims to direct financial assistance to women-led projects worldwide.”
