They are not always easy to find. In fact, most of the guidebooks completely over look them. However, many counties operate small, efficient, conveniently located and reasonably priced RV campgrounds.
When we discovered yesterday that our 5th wheel was too long to make the bend into our friends’ driveway, they recommended the nearby country fairgrounds’ park.
Run by the parks and recreation department, the Crook County RV Park in Prineville, Oregon, has 71 full-service sites. The park and bathrooms (with nice hot showers) were clean, grounds keepers were working on the property, and the office staff was friendly and helpful.
Nightly cost is $28 for full hookups (including wifi, cable and sewer), 10-percent discount to AAA; there are also weekly and monthly rates. Most of the other occupants where there by the month.

Looks pretty! Will have to keep this in mind whenever we get into that area!
