One should never under estimate who might be sitting next to you during any informal gathering at any RV park around the world. Chances are, if you scratch the surface, even just a little, there is an amazing story lurking … maybe even a mystery.

Take the visit Jimmy and I made to the Escapees Park of the Sierras recently on our route through central California. We were members here for a year and during our time at Park Sierra, I frequently dropped into the Monday afternoon writers’ group. Naturally I made certain that our brief stopover on this trip included at least two Mondays so I could catch-up with dear friends.

I knew most of the group but found there were a couple new members including Lane Feicht, who recently ended a career as a graphic artist and college instructor.

Part of each group session is devoted to reading recent writing and asking for feedback. I knew from her readings that Lane was an accomplished writer … what I didn’t know and had to learn from my friend, Betty Wilson (another great writer in the ‘southern writer’ tradition) … is that Lane had published two mystery novels under her maiden name: Lane Stark — ‘The Hour of Predators’ (e-book and paperback on Amazon.com) and ‘A Toll to the Devil’ (kindle edition click here).
