Isle of Wight – a great camping destination

Share

A little more than 20 years ago, I made a trip to the United Kingdom with my father to visit the land of our ancestors.

Some of our most peaceful days were spent on the Isle of Wight off the south coast of England.

The island has outstanding natural beauty and has been a popular resort destination since Victorian times.

We got there by taking the ferry, operated by the Red Funnel Group, formed in 1861.

Over the years, Red Funnel has expanded to include UK holidays.

In addition to all types of lodgings, including hotels and B & Bs, they operate four campgrounds set in stunning locations, “all of which have won awards in recognition of their green credentials.”

Visit Red Funnel for more information.
