Can a generic mole stand in for the infamous Punxsutawney Phil? (The answer is ‘No’ if one is to believe the official  Groundhog Day Web site.)

“According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.”

Well, if the Park Sierra Mary was able to stand in for Punxsutawney Phil, we will, alas, have six more weeks of winter in this region of the Sierra Nevada Mountains … and that is as good a reason as any to pack up our truck camper and head for Arizona.
