“Sisters on the Fly,” one of my favorite RV-fly fishing groups that happens to use vintage recreational vehicles to have fun, is back in the headlines.
Irene Rawlings, a longtime ‘Sister’ sent in an e-mail saying that a light-hearted new book, “Sisters on the Fly: Caravans, Campfires, and Tales from the Road” ($14.99), has a publication target of May 2010. (The book is available in bookstores and through online book sellers including Amazon.com.)
Irene says that the book “is about women who buy vintage trailers, restore them and take them out fishing to some of the most beautiful places in the United States and Canada.”
The Sisters share tales of the road and their vintage rigs because “they know that once you see all the fun they’re having fly-fishing, riding horses, camping, eating, laughing, and loving, you just might want to join their cowgirl caravan when it heads out for the next adventure.”
Author Rawlings, also an editor and art curator, hosts a radio show syndicated throughout the Rocky Mountain West. Her other books include “Portable Houses” and “The Clothesline.”
