We are on a two week RV camping trip through Oregon with plans of seeing friends in Redmond, and ending up on the Oregon coast to escape the extreme summer heat of eastern Washington.

Our first night will be at Wallowa Lake State Park in northeast Oregon, just south of Joseph. Our full-hookup site (during August 2014) is $30/summer for one night, booked through Reserve America for an extra $8 fee (ouch).

The park is nestled between the south end of a scenic glacial lake and the towering peaks of the Wallowa Mountains, according to a park brochure.

Year-Round Camping
• 121 full-hookup sites with sewer, electricity, water
• 89 tent/boondocking sites with water nearby
• Paved parking, picnic table, fire ring at all sites
• Hot showers and flush toilets
• RV dump station

From October 1–April 30, you can rent full-hookup and tent sites for less. At most Oregon state parks, including Wallowa Lake, you can get $4 off summer rates.
