Most of molded fiberglass travel trailers manufactures sell factory direct to the public and many allow buyers to customize orders by picking fabrics, flooring and laminates.
Manufactures currently producing trailers:
— Bigfoot RVs: For more than 30 years Bigfoot has manufactured both molded fiberglass travel trailers and truck campers in British Columbia, Canada.
— Casita Trailers: The Casita trailers feature two-shell construction, 3-inch channel-steel frame and 15-inch tires.
— EggCamper: Manufactured since 2006 in Grandville, Mich.. a 17-foot trailer, 2,000-pound dry weight goes for around $18,880 and a 14-foot Teardrop for around $10,000.
— Escape Trailers: Made in Chilliwack, British Columbia since 2001.
— Lil Snoozy Small Travel Trailer: “A small camper with tons of elbow room.”
— Oliver Travel Trailer : After a production hiatus in 2009, Oliver returned to production in 2013.
— ParkLiner, Inc.: Owner Chandler Palethorpe of Gibsonville, N.C., began fabricating his ultralight fiberglass camper in 2011.
— Scamp Trailers: One of the first fiberglass manufacturers since 1972. Factory direct from Minnesota, deliver anywhere in the U.S.A.
— Trilliaum RV: Original company in Canada dates back to late 1960s. Today the trailers are built in Florence, Ariz., south of Phoenix.
— Weis Craft Trailers: Maker of the Little Joe and Ponderosa compact travel camper. Towable with a small pickup or compact car.
Online Fiberglass RV Resources
— Molded Lightweight Fiberglass RV with 12,000 members is a “free resource for those who are looking for, or who own, molded fiberglass travel trailers.” There are forums and tutorials. Topics cover maintenance and repair, towing, modifications, and almost anything related to molded fiberglass travel trailers.
— Fiberglass RV’s for Sale started in 2009 as an online place to connect buyers and sellers. “Molded Fiberglass RV’s, or ‘eggs’ as they are fondly called, have been around for quite some time but are a niche market that not many people know about,” stated the website out of Phoenix.
