The 20th Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Hailey, Idaho, October 5 – 9, 2016, is a perfect autumn RV destination.
The annual migration of sheep from their summer pastures south to winter grazing “is Idaho living history and a weekend long festival that highlights the people, arts, cultures, and traditions of sheep ranching in Idaho and the west,” according to Laura Musbach Drake, festival director.
While the sheep are the center of the festival, they “knit together a cultural tapestry of concerts, workshops, presentations, personalities, dogs, horses and food.”
