When one travels Interstate 10 across the high desert region of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, there is a good, almost certain, chance you will encounter two things: long stretches of empty country and strong cross winds.
Recently, a little more than seven hours into our longest travel day as we were attempting to get through the relentless high winds of west Texas and into the Hill Country–our passenger’s side rear tire blew.
Jimmy was able to get us safely to the shoulder of this desolate stretch of highway about 35 miles east of Fort Stockton. The tire was shredded. While I pulled out my cell phone to call AAA (after all this is exactly why we pay for the extended RV service), Jimmy starts pulling out his tools. (AAA reported it would be at least two hours.)
What happened in the next hour still leaves us shaken, and in humble gratitude. Read Jimmy thoughts by clicking here.

Somebody was definitely watching out for you. Maybe Angels on the sidelines. Thankful you made it safely through your ordeal. Merry Christmas.
Holy sh-t! The magic universe at work.
Whatever was at work … we appreciate being looked after.
